Happy Xmas

Xmas morning. Bacon butties, fresh coffee, Cliff Richard Misteltoe and Wine video playing on the telly. Wearing my new chrtistmas shirt and scarf (very colourful), daughter nursing a broke toe! Posting this via my new laptop (thank you wonderful wife!) Happy Xmas to all.  

An evening with Alan Calder

Very entertaining evening at the Vale Royal Writers Group meet at the Blue Cap Inn, Sandiway, last night. Guest author, Alan Calder, came along and gave a very interesting and insightful talk on how he put his first published novel, 'The Stuart Agenda' together as well as the process he went through to get published. Fair to say everyone was rapt and came away inspired! Plenty of food for thought also on the art of getting published in a world where all the rules on the subject are changing rapidly. Good luck for the future, Alan, and thank you for sharing your views and experiences.

At long last and in response to great demand - or should that be cajoling from others who are way ahead of me in the field? -the time has come for me to jump aboard the burgeoning on-line writing train and see where it takes me. If you are reading this, please bear with a 'newby'. From now on I'll be challenging myself to record here my thoughts, experiences, news, views, ups and downs on a variety of topics - but mainly, Writing!
